This adorable little red squirrel is made from embossed copper sheet then annealed to create the lovely rich reds and oranges. He has a beaded eye and brass whiskers and sits in a tree of copper and brass wire with verdigris copper oak leaves on a fragment of vintage china tea plate and is nibbling away at his beaded acorns.
The assemblage is mounted and signed on acid free off white card in a white contemporary style open grain wooden box frame, 330mm x 330mm.
I am so lucky to live in the Scottish Borders where the red squirrel is still scurrying around the woodlands, I love the cheeky chappies and although the glimpses of them are getting more infrequent they are worth it.
